As a startup, we want to redefine how we treat our companions. Our first issue was how we were going to solve the waste problem when it comes to all goods that are sold. There is no getting past the fact that if items are sold, there is going to be an inherit issue with waste in terms of packaging, shipping, labeling, compliance and also storing to maintain freshness. Since Natty Nootz is a food product for pets, the latter is very important because if something were to go bad, it just compounds the problem of waste in the first place. Below is our journey and solutionvto provide the best high-quality products while attempting to do our part in reducing as much waste as we can. Nobody is perfect but this is our shot.

Backyard Compostable Refill Bags

Now that you have a Natty Nootz jar, there will be a time where it needs to get refilled. Future purchases where you select a refill option will come in our innovative home compostable cellulose bags. In addition those bags will have a larger quantity of treats for the same cost.

Compostable Labels

We couldn't do compostable bags without the labels.

  • Industry-Leading Compostable Adhesive

Our labels are composed of hemp-based or sugar cane-based paper. The sugar cane fibers are collected from sugarcane waste, thereby diverting waste from landfills to paper production. They're adhered with an innovative compostable adhesive that is vegan and meets the requirements of DIN CERTCO and BPI for biodegradability and compostability, in addition to being compliant with the ASTM D6868 - an industry first!

Compostable Shipping

We couldn't spend all this time and energy without covering all our bases. Shipping labels are made out of the same material as the labels that come on the refill bags.

Compostable Packaging Tape

The packaging tape is non-reinforced gummed Kraft paper. Meaning there is no fiberglass or polyester to make it stronger. Sealed with water!

Compostable Packaging Peanuts

The peanuts are compostable, biodegradable and made from corn and potato starch. Dissolvable in water.

Cardboard Boxes

Shipping Boxes come with as little ink as possible and are a perfect base for new garden beds.
